The Pacific Coast Association of Magicians held its annual convention in Los Angeles, at the International Hotel near LAX Airport, in July of 1973.

The film is silent and begins with the arrival at LAX and a shot of the International Hotel. The first morning begins with Registration, as folks arrive and sign in. Next it is off to the Dealer's Room to see Jimmy Yoshida, an unidentified dealer, Homer Hudson and his Side Tables. Seen visiting the Dealer's Room was Danny Dew.

The first night banquet begins with a pan of the room and Bert Easley can be seen (wearing the coat and tie) in the opening shot. The ballroom was the setting for all of the stage shows.

The two gentlemen opening the show are unidentified, as is the card manipulator seen performing with a lovely assistant.

The next morning was a publicity stunt in the hotel parking lot. An escape artist was to be hung upside down from a hot air balloon, then trussed in a straight jacket, he would make his escape while the rope was set on fire. The only problem was that they had difficulty getting enough height from the hot air balloon, and the poor fellow ended up being drug across the parking lot in his straight jacket until they could manage enough lift to get him off the ground!

Some sight seeing was obligatory so we have footage of Grauman's Chinese Theater with the footprints in cement of Red Skelton, Judy Garland, and Al Jolson. Then, up the street, we see the world famous Magic Castle. Of course, filming is not allowed inside the Castle.

Then the Friday night Gala Show included such names as Joe Cossari, Alan Hale, Jr., Chop Suey, Dr. Giovanni, Mousie Garner, and Ken Griffin and Roberta.

We see clips of the full pit orchestra, Whitey Roberts, and Ken Griffin and Roberta. After the show, in the Ballroom Foyer, the Phoenix contingent gathered for a group photo. Bert and Marianne Easley, Danny Dew, Brad Walstrom and Brad Zinn.

Then Whitey Roberts and Mousie Garner (the LAST Stooge of the Three Stooges) agreed to ham it up for the camera.

Once again in the Dealer's room we see Jerry Andrus demonstrate the Linking Pins. Mark Wilson, Nani Darnell, and Greg, arrived to see the latest dealer's wares and Mark agreed to show off the Linking Rings for the camera.

“Jan” demonstrates his “Knife Through Borrowed Coat”. Yes, the coat was undamaged after the ordeal!

Paul Diamond demonstrated a coin penetration. Keep your eye on the water glass! Mark Wilson tries out a “bang ring”.

Next is believed to be Steve Spill in a very early convention appearance selling his lecture notes and demonstrating a sponge ball routine.

The final night banquet beckons us to Follow The Doves to the P.C.A.M. next year (1974) in Victoria, BC!

Running time: 6 mins 48 secs.
