There was a time in the early 1980's when several Phoenix magicians attempted to start an SAM Assembly in the Valley to provide an alternative to IBM Ring 55. Membership was of course open to both clubs. This Assembly did not last long as it succumbed to in-fighting. Several years later, Robert Bluemle started S.A.M. Assembly 248 and it has remained viable to this day of publication (2022).
