Joseph Greenawalt was a very close friend of Danny Dew and they actually were in business together for a short time. Joe is the one who drove Danny over to California in 1955 for the Santa Barbara P.C.A.M. Convention where Danny stopped the show. Joe was also friends with many of the magicians in the Valley and was quite familiar with the effects and the literature of magicians. Brad Zinn and Joe often did Christmas shows together where he was magically produced as Santa. His funeral was big news and extensively covered by the local media. The story is told that when he passed away in the hospital, the Doctors and Nurses gathered in his room and cried over the loss.
